  1. Fresh Brewed from Custom Blended Tea Leaves: Milo’s Tea is brewed from the highest quality tea leaves available for iced teas. Most ready to drink teas are made from instant tea or tea concentrate. We freshly brew our tea from tea leaves like you do at home (just on a larger scale). This fresh brewed taste is one of the many reasons that we really are different from other teas.
  2. All Natural: Milo’s Tea really is All Natural. Just read our label! Our sweet tea contains custom blended tea, filtered water and pure cane sugar. How much more natural can you get? Compare Milo’s label to other teas. You can actually pronounce our ingredients. The simple truth is that Milo’s Tea tastes so good because it is just like the tea your grandmother made at home with the high quality ingredients you want for you and your family.
  3. No Preservatives: Milo’s Tea contains no preservatives. You probably don’t keep containers of preservatives in your kitchen and neither do we! Common tea preservatives are “potassium sorbate,” “citric acid” and “sodium benzoate,” all of which change the taste and color of tea. Here at Milo’s that is not acceptable. We believe we have the recipe for the perfect tea and, while it would be easier to add preservatives and extend our shelf-life, we don’t think that is the right thing to do. We are committed to preserving the great flavor of Milo’s Tea through manufacturing innovations and high quality control standards and refuse to use chemicals and shortcuts to make our job easier. We have been producing tea for over sixty years with the same quality ingredients, and that is not going to change!
  4. No Additives: Like preservatives, additives are non-food ingredients added to food products to achieve certain results like coloring, texture, flavor, etc. Because our Tea is all natural, we are proud that we don’t need any additives. Just look at other teas out there and see the “caramel color” needed to make their teas brown. Why would anyone need brown coloring in their tea? Because the color, vitamins and antioxidants are affected when preservatives are added to extend the shelf life. We are proud that we don’t need additives to make our tea look like tea. This is one of the many reasons Milo’s Tea is different.
  5. High in Antioxidants: All teas – green, black or oolong – come from the same plant, Camellia sinensis and are rich in polyphenols. These polyphenols are a type of antioxidant which seek out cell-damaging free radicals in our bodies and render them harmless. This is often referred to as “detoxification.” This is according to John Weisburger, PhD, senior researcher at the Institute for Cancer Prevention in Valhalla, NY. “In my lab, we found that green and black tea had identical amounts of polyphenols.” Weisburger’s researchers also concluded that both green and black teas have about 8 to 10 times the polyphenols found in fruits and vegetables. There are many additional studies that attribute health benefits to the antioxidants found in tea (See additional information on the Antioxidants page link). Because Milo’s Tea is freshly brewed from leaves it has even higher antioxidant levels than most teas out there. Just another way, we truly are different.
  6. Quality Ingredients: From the field to the glass, we source every ingredient to ensure only the highest quality ready-to-drink tea for our customers. To this end we have visited the tea fields in South America, and we have tromped through the sugar cane in the Southeastern United States, to ensure that our suppliers provide us with only the highest quality ingredients available on the market. We require all our suppliers to certify that they will adhere to our stringent quality and safety standards. We sample each ingredient before using it in our famous tea to ensure quality and consistency.

  4. Stewards of the Community and Environment: Milo’s cares about the people and the world in which it serves. We are honored to donate thousands of gallons of tea each year to charities, non-profits and other organizations. Milo’s stewardship extends to protecting the environment through responsible manufacturing. One of the many ways we do this is to recycle our tea leaves into a commercial potting soil. Through this program, we have diverted thousands of tons of waste from the landfill and provided a local alternative to the soil manufacturer. As a result, this producer has reduced the amount of soil components that are imported. We also recycle office paper, various plastics, and kraft board. Additionally, we recently upgraded our trucking fleet to the most modern and fuel efficient trucks available. These trucks have computer monitors to ensure most efficient routing to reduce fuel consumption and noise pollution. These vehicles also utilize the most fuel efficient refrigeration units on the market to reduce energy consumption.
